Isn’t it time you reconnected with the natural world?

Gain the knowledge you need to properly employ traditional herbal medicine practices in your life with our immersive Discovering Herbal Medicine course.

As a species, we have lost touch with the natural ways that our ancestors survived. We now turn to quick fixes and harsh chemicals to solve our health problems. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Natural herbal remedies are still very much a viable antidote to many health issues. The trick is to know how to wield their power properly. This Discovering Herbal Medicine (DHM) course is designed to help you finally take control of you and your family’s health and harness the full potential of herbal remedies.

A Taste of What’s Inside

“I don’t like using drugs – I want to learn more about herbs.”

“I want to have more control over my health and the well-being of my family and to be able to administer simple natural remedies.”

“I want to know more about which natural remedies to use for everyday ailments.”

These are some of the things our previous course participants have cited as their reasons for signing up. You’ve probably wondered about one or more of these at some point as well.

That’s because the allure of natural remedies is universal. It’s innate within us to know there is power there, but there are few college courses designed to take you through the thousands of different options available to you. It can be a lot to sift through and discover.

This course is the answer. It’s a yearlong, self-paced journey through the world of herbal medicine. Along the way, you’ll discover the best remedies for everyday ailments, serious illness, and everything in between.

You’ll become an expert in the field, able to recommend products to help better care for the people you love around you.

What You’ll Learn In The Course

The Discovering Herbal Medicine course has been around for over 40 years.

Originating in England through the inspired vision of renown herbalist Hein Zeylstra, his legacy included introducing the modern world to the relevance of ancient herbal remedies. Through the years, DHM has been updated and improved with the important addition of the experienced nutritionist, Dr. Ann Walker. Each of the 12 modules covers a different area of the human body and consists of an introduction by Ann Walker, a worksheet to complete alongside the lesson, and a quiz to test your knowledge before moving on.

About

Hi, I'm Dr Ann Walker.
I created New Vitality Tuition for people just like you...

I became interested in the medicinal properties of herbs, when my Late husband, Alan, who had chronic fatigue syndrome, responded well to Chinese Herbal Medicine. While holding down my job as Senior Lecturer in Human Nutrition at Reading, I retrained as a herbal practitioner in the ‘western’ mode, qualifying in 1994.

I now run New Vitality Clinic on 2 days a week and see patients suffering from a wide variety of conditions who benefit from a combination of nutrition and herbal medicine. Whilst at the University of Reading my clinical studies involved the therapeutic efficacy of nutrients and plant extracts with volunteers with a range of health problems, including PMS, adverse menopausal symptoms, type II diabetes and hypertension. I am author of several books on human nutrition and several scientific papers.

I continue to use my scientific background to access, interpret and apply the latest research in nutrition and herbal medicine, My background is particularly suitable for keeping the online “Discovering Herbal Medicine” course up-to-date. This is nominally a 12 month home-study course combining traditional knowledge of herbal therapeutics with scientific insight into the composition, properties and applications of botanical medicine. The course is accredited by the British Herbal Medicine Association, and is, on completion, accepted for entry into professional training courses for herbal practitioners in the UK.
